| CENTRAL POST |

The central post is near the two experimental canals (approximately 30m).
The canals are just in front of the central post making very easy its direct
supervision.
The installations are composed by: a central control office,
with 13.75 m² area, where are installed the central controller and the
server PC;
a multipurpose (work, exposition and demonstration) equipped with two
PC connected to the server PC and with a video projector, with room 41,79
m² area; a deposit with 13,00 m² area. |
| Equipments |
- three computers connected by network;
- one ink jet A4 high-resolution printer;
- one video projector;
- one connection module PC/controllers network and the correspondent overcharge protection device;
- one electric board for power supply (230/400V - 50Hz), for supply and protection of all the others electric boards along the automatic canal.

The computers are of multimedia type with high memory capacity and processing,
being connected to the University WindowsNT network.
One of the PC is connected
to a video projector in the multipurpose room, for demonstration purposes. |
| The electric board has the following characteristics: |
- supply in 230/400V – 50Hz;
- class protection IP43;
- montagem mural;
- general power cut off devices;
- overcharge protection device;
- voltmeter, ampere meter and phase’s indicator;
- power cut off and protection devices for the five electric boards along
the automatic canal.

| Software |
| The software installed is: |
- the programming language for the controllers;
- SCADA software for the supervision and monitoring of the automatic canal;
- open- channel hydraulics and control software, models SIC and CanalCAD;
- others hydraulics software.
